Keeping It Real
September 10th – October 3rd

Kettle Art presents “Keeping It Real”, a mind-bending exploration of surrealism featuring works by four North Texas visual artists. The exhibit curated by Duke Horn opens on Thursday, September 10, at 7:00pm, and runs through Saturday, October 3rd.

From the emergence of Surrealism in the 1920s comes Duke Horn’s Magical Realism, the artist’s works over the past decade that examine a personal narrative inspired by fairground art and the midway of yesteryear.

Emily Broussard’s works intimate a conversation with one’s body, as represented in emotional overtones of poignant encounters with the outside world, revealing the innards of the human spirit.

Anya Bosworth’s playful creativity emerges as fantastical creatures in a parallel universe, expressing both the light and the dark of imaginative human counterparts from that 3-D world.

John Clapp envisions reality in a way only M.C. Escher could conceive. The artist’s hyper-realism is a trompe l’oeil smorgasbord of miniature worlds begging to be examined under a magnifying glass.
